If you've not noticed by now, Resense specialise in multi-genre mash-ups for the kind of b-boy / b-girl dancefloors where everyone likes to have a smile on their faces. For the label's 22nd release the always great and surprising Bas Lexter Ensample deliver five varied tracks to give you the grins. EP opener "Playin With Daydreamin" takes in easy listening, reggae, soul and breaks - all in one track! "Yeyeyeah" has that twangy surfing 60s vibe, but with those all essential funky breaks underneath. On the flip "Operation Grandslam" mixes Goldfinger dialogue with a cinematic bossa nova grooves, "Green Tomatoes" gets all bluegrass on us, meshing a harp solo with Blackalicious' "Make You Feel That Way" rap. Which leaves the scratchy jump-up swinger "B-bwoylogy".
